Finished mass casting molds

So finished some of the molds and some of them are awesome the ones on the left are the best because they add rigidity to the mold so it doesn't flex when casting. More latex rubber layers the better, the ones on the far right are the best and tend to warp when cast. 2 or more molds in the same piece of rubber so they can give overall support. the others I have created some plaster beds for the molds to sit in but I think I will stick with the method I used for the 2 molds on the left.

All molds I made up with approximately 7-8 layers and 2 layers of cheescloth.

First cast worked out brilliantly
Now all I have to do is buy some more bags of plaster of paris and cast, cast, cast. I will be getting more of this stuff plus the silcone rubber as well.

New Chaos Warriors

New Chaos Warriors are out next weekend

I must say, Throgg is Epic. No wonder he is the King. E P I C

I Like Scary Face (Slaughterbrute)
Angry Face is ok I guess.

More links here. Overall the Dragon Ogres look pretty good, 16 year old japanese schoolgirl's (all 3 elf armies) nightmare looks mad.

Chariots are ok.

Forsaken are hit and miss.

I don't really like the chaos lord and Vilitch.

Can't wait for daemons next month.

NZTC Team Kapiti

So Hamish has organised us boys up at Kapiti Wargaming Club.

Our team will probably consist of;

WoC - Hamish
Orcs and Goblins - Nic
Dark Elves - Herman
and my DoC

Looking forward to it as it's my first tournament in 10 years. Have to get the final lots of my minis painted. Billy and his Bloodletters plus chaff and light mage will probably be making the stage for me.

Mold making, Warhammer and Having fun with Mordheim

So I've been fairly busy over the last few weeks. Playing lots of games of Warhammer and introducing the kids to Mordheim and D&D. The first session we had with D&D (Pathfinder Rules) was a blast as we were running through a conversion of Warlock of Firetop Mountain (Myriador).

As to Mordheim its proving even more popular than warhammer with the kids and they get to use some of the miniatures from their armies to play their warbands. Some of the experimental and unofficial warbands are fairly overpowered though.

I've been making some latex rubber molds to make my scenry casting go faster for mordheim and warhammer. the mold making takes a fair few days to dry but am looking forward to the results. I will be making a LOT of towers and probably even a CASTLE at some point.

Using some of the Woodland Scenics Latex rubber to speed up my hirst arts casts.

One of the many many many games I've played against Hamish's Skaven or Chaos Warrior list in anticipation for the teams event.
My terrain adds to itself. Authentic spiderwebs under the stairs on one of my Arcane fulcrums.

Zoom in on spider webs.

Mordheim map we've been using recently with a bridge in the middle. Makes for deadly sniping on the bridge.

Battling across the bridge. My outlaws of Stirwood forest versus the missus's Undead Warband.

View from mordheim central park across the city.

Primer Lamentations. Oh For Black!

I've taken to using a lot of the Army Painter Primers, usually doing a full general black primer (GW Black) colour and then an army painter colour, or just doing the basic primer. At $31 per pop for GW compared to Army painter black whenever slave to painting has it in stock. Anybody know of any other stockists of black Primer.

Bloodthirster of Khorne

More WIP painting shots of Billy T. Bloodthirster

Billy by Sunset, he is an aries, he likes long walks on the beach and ripping people's heads off and drinking their blood.

Sammy's Sadistic Surgery: Scarbrand regains his wings

So I ripped off Scarbrands Spikey bits and he has been promoted back to Bloodthirster. Here he is with with large pins in.

And with wings attached he gets back into Khorne's favour. Ready to PAR-TAY!

A little bit of sculpting and wings look a bit more natural.

More pics to follow later.

My Dice Rolling

Occasionally I've been called a gamey bastard or a tinny bastard and sometimes even just a bastard. My wife, Bless Her, decided to prove that I was a gamey bastard. So out came all my dice and with independant talliests (my children) decided to roll all my dice multiple times to see if my dice were loaded or I was just a lucky bastard. the tally was as follows out of approximately1200 rolls.

177 1's, 207 2's, 180 3's, 207 4's, 213 5's and 203 6's.

The Little Sorceress tallies up the dice rolls as I roll them.
This study results in 1's being overall more likely to be rolled with GW and Chessex die. This just proves how awesome I am in game or it's just the fact that people tend to focus on the times when you roll bad rather than the times you roll good. Or the fact that my bloodletters get rerolls in the first round of combat.
