Shiny Daemon Spells

I got my shiny Daemon spells in the mail and warplflame got a card of it's own. I figure a picture is how I'll frame my opinion of this card and it's "rules" it contains.

So my wife had this great idea for proxying mangler squigs, so recruiting my modelling skills we have embarked on Project Spitball.

Using my dremel to carve some Sphinx legs to add to spitball volunteer number one.

This is my first try at a pure 8th edition Tzeentch Fluffy list going up against Fern's Night Goblins.

Fluffy Tzeentch, on par with night goblins if the LoC doesn't suck itself down a hole.

Wifey hijacks the blog! Night goblins for Natcon :)

Hey there,

So, I finally managed to steal some time to write up something for the blog.

I've play-tested my fairly pure 2500pt Night Goblin Natcon list against Sam's 8th Ed pure Tzeentch DoC list, and I'm almost happy with how it played - just a few tweaks I really need to make before submitting.  Oh yeah, and I won by 617 points, so not too bad for a girl ;)

Now just to paint the 90-odd models I still need to finish in time...  Not including the squigs still on their way in the post.

Gobbos vs Daemons

Had 3 games over last 2 days with my 7th ed. daemons(in practise for Natcon), lost by 500 points to Sam Whitt's nicely painted Orcs and Gobliins, finally beat Hamish's nasty Skaven list by 500 points(first victory for me over Skaven) and a game versus Fern's Night Goblins.

In the game versus Sam I moved badly allowing his chariots to kill all my chaff and I didn't play aggressive enough. The Savage orcs with bows was an interesting tactic. I don't think it's as good as having AHW though.

My two letter hordes was much more functional after charging across the field in a meeting engagement against Hamish's Skaven. I had enough to blast his slave units in two turns to break them and i landed 2 killingblows against his grey seer, killing him on the second one. I only managed to get 3 wounds off the bell but that will change once I've stopped playing 7th ed. daemons. Skull Cannons.

So this is a bit of a pictorial expose, the missus and I had a 2500 point game of my Daemons versus her Night Goblins on Wednesday night. Fern's been Horde painting at the moment so has lots of Skaven and night Goblins being painted.

What happened to all the stuff in the middle, Mangler Squig, that's what.

No more Arachnarok; Flaming Herald of Khorne and Bloodletters dealt to that.

Two Fnatics pop through my Unit of letters taking a couple of casualties.

These guys didn't end up doing much for the rest of the battle.

Also spent some time with the little Berzerker and got his Dorf Cannons base coated, painted 1 layer and based. only needs a wash and some details picked out and the base fully pauinted and flocked.

Femgaming

Since I have 3 of them (wife and 2 daughters) I am quite interested in women gamers and how they fare. This hobby is populated by a lot of men, mostly Geeks and Nerds, well all of them are Geeks and Nerds you might say...and some fringe elements.We're not quite sure if they're human or not. Let's just leave it as sometimes you want to shower after playing some people. Then on the other side you have the wargaming widows, those who put up with chopped off flash and tailings from pinning, paint stains from spilling paint on the carpet, nights and weekends where they are bereft of their partners.  Occasionally it will be that one of them takes up the mantle or even one of them who has no partner involved in wargaming at all (like there are no women on the internet, lulz). In the US over the weekend one of those won the Bay area Open.

At the end of the day it's not the fact that the 7 other guys who were beaten by a girl (well just a little) but it's awesome kudos for someone to participate in something that is wholly dominated by the other sex and do well. I will be showing this to my daughters.

Probably one of the reasons not many women get into the hobby, this is how a lot of men view them.

Women need just as much armour as men.

My wife had a great time socialising and talking to all the participants at NZTC, she even wants to go to Natcon and said sign me up. So I did. A couple of hours later she said she didn't want to go, but I had already paid. So "fuck it" she said and was fully committed. We're going over to the Hutt and babysit the Mother in Law's house and play warhammer for 3 days.

She's always been into gaming, mostly cards (illuminati) and VtM and I got her going with warhammer because she loved painting and wanted to be interested in my hobby. I gave her my Vampire counts army that was languishing and now she has VC over 10,000 points, 450 strong night goblins and the beginnings of a Skaven army. Did I mention she paints like an assembly line. To tabletop quality she can paint probably twice as fast as me. But then again she has 3 horde armies with very large model count usually. She's even beat me a couple of times. Not against my Daemons though, but they're a top tier army anyway.

I hope I don't end up facing her at NATCON, I usually play her once a week at least but mainly for the reason I will end up sleeping on the couch if i beat her. But I hope you other guys get trounced by her. She'll be taking Night Goblins.
