Daemons Vs Orcs & Goblins

I played a game last night against Nicks Orc's and Goblins and probably would have managed a win if he had not had to leave to catch the train. We both had constructed anti-CW armies.

Points to note: Horrors are better formed up as a unit of 30 6x5 with changeling and embedded Herald with Usual Master of Sorcery and Spellbreaker.

First time I took out the daemonettes and they sucked. But then again they did get charged by trolls in the first turn 18" charge (he rolled double 6s). Will take Bloodletters instead.

Savage Orcs die almost like regular Orcs from shooting and magic. Especially when you focus fire on them.

Screamers are awesome.

Flamers less so. Screamers are way better than flamers at the moment.

Fiends are awesome expecially run in two units of 1 as tandem hitters.

I have yet to take Plaguebearers, but I'm guessing they're going to be as effective as Daemonettes.

I'm going to pick up some furies for my pure Khorne daemons and  as a cheap utility unit.

Labelled Diagram of my Miniatures Storage Room

So, I had to give my daughters more privacy so raised the shelves in the storage room. this meant I had to take all my miniature stuff out and eventually put it back in. This allowed for me to re-organise the entire thing.  I have thusly produced a labelled diagram of my storage room. It is amazing how much shit I have. The VC and Skaven stuff is the missus's stuff..

Theoryhammer - hard as nails Khorne Daemons

Played a few games last night and it got me thinking about how I would run my Khorne Daemons better. Thinking of running this Daemon army but it would mean another 20 bloodletters I'd need to buy.

This is mainly for against Chaos Warriors or armies without cannons.

Blood crushers on the most part suck but occasionally have their uses. I'm finding the Great Icon of Despair exceedingly usueful virtually against all armies. Especially in the big horde unit of Bloodletters it should go well. Lots of furies for chasing down things that wont fight me fairly like charge redirectors;-) Charge redirecting on one small unit is such a broken mechanic. I used a Bloodthrister last night and not convinced too much on him versus more daemons. However I will always max out heroes because they are essential to normal. I do also have a Chariot.

GW price rant (why Mantic is getting more of my money)

So I'm a little miffed at the Bretonnian Finecast releases; I really wanted 2 Trebuchets and maybe some questing Knights to finish off my Bret army. Sadly no more. To Ebay and trademe.

Don't you think it's rather disparate?

I've started cleaning and assembling the Orcs: 9 Ax dudes, 4 great Axes, Wip the half Cast and 10 Boar riders done. At first I was a little miffed that there was so very few options on each sprue but when I compared the sprues together they were all interchangeable so it allows for a fair bit of flexibiility and swapping bits when you have mutiple sprues to draw from. I must say the boar riders are by far my favourite at the moment.

My Mantic stuff arrived in the mail today. 1200 points of Orcs thereabouts. Here's my fat arse in some action shots of my new gaming T-shirt.

It's been a good week. On Wednesday decided to buy the Dark Vengeance box set. I smell a 40k Cultist heavy army in the works. I think my 40k stuff is going to get some love soon. 


1 Dark Vengeance box set Chaos side 20 Kaos Kultists, 6 Chosen, 1 Hellbrute, 1 Kaos Lord and some Dark anglez, but i wont put them together someone else can.

plus the rest of which I have to assemble.

I can't even list my unpainted stuff, but it's a measure of my mortality in the time it will take to paint them.

However I did manage to cut into that list and I assembled 20 Bloodletters to fill 25 bases on Wednesday.
 
I have undercoated them dragon red from the army painter range and mounted them on rocks selected from the driveway. Now I have to fully paint them up and slot them into my Khorne Daemonic Legion.

On a side note, have made it to the Gym 5 days in a row.
